KALI RIVER BRIDGE.

KALI RIVER BRIDGE ;

Bridge is built on above the confluence of Kali river and Arabian sea. National Highway NH17 Continues on Kali bridge and road continues to split the Sadashivgad rock hill to connect Karnataka and Goa. Before this Bridge built Barge (Boat) is using for transportation connect Kodibag end to Sadashivgad end. This bridge is near to Kodibag end of Karwar. By passing on bridge significent and pictureseque view of kali river and Arabian sea adjoining place. From watching tower on top of splitted rock hill you see beautiful bridge and whole Karwar city view and Devbagh beach. In next 5-6 months you can't see this views (I uploaded these photos for my viewers see below) beacause of broadening of road Chatuspath NH 66 works under progress they demolish one side rocky hill and built another parallel bridge and road with existing one.

Karwar is Headquarter of Uttarkannada District.

By Road;

From Bangalore to Karwar 530 kms.

Three Bus routes to reach Karwar

1) Bangalore-Hubli-Ankola-Karwar.

2) Bangalore-Haveri-Sirsi-Ankola-Karwar.

3Bangalore-Shivmogga-Honnavar-Kumta-Ankola-Karwar.

 These three routes take same time approximately 12 hours. For comfortable journey best route i suggest is Bangalore-Hubli-Karwar.(Beacause of Journey on  Bangalore-Puna highway and then Hubli-Karwar National Highway)

From Bangalore K.S.R.T.C. and Private Busses are available like Seabird,Sugama,VRL,SRS,Paulotravells,Shreekumar . After night 7o'clock buses start from Bangalore upto 11o'clock.
Karwar is well connected to number of buses to various prominent cities like Mumbai,Pune,Bangalore,Hyderabad,Chennai,Trivendrm.

By Train;

From Bangalore 2 Trains available Directly to Karwar One Departure from Yeshwanthpur and another one from Bangalore city station.

(Bangalore-Mysore-Hasan-Mangalore-Karwar)

 Another route by Train Bangalore-Hubli and then by road Hubli-Karwar.
Konkan railway which connects Trivendrum and Mumbai via Karwar to Major cities of India.
Karwar Railway Station is 6 kms away from city. by city bus or Autorickshaw you reach karwar city.

By Air;

Uttar kannada District don't have any Airport the nearest airport is at Dabolim Goa from here can take flights to other major destinations all over India. By air come to Goa and then by road reach Karwar. and other airports near to district is Mangalore and hubli.

 Ganesh Chaturthi ;              

             Karwar people celebrate every festivals but mainly Ganesh Chaturthi (Lord ganesha) Festival celebrated very grand.

 Every year in the month of August or September Ganesh Chaturthi festival celebrated by karwar peoples approximately in 80% homes they installed Lord Ganesh Idols. Idols height sizes will be 1 feet to 3 feet and  kept ganeshas for two days to eleven days defend upon their worship daily Gumta arati poojas (gumta means music instrument specially for Ganesh festival.it's a mud pot one side dia is more and another side dia will be less on more dia side leather will tightly knotted) Gumta arati poojas special in this Konkan region after two or eleven days of worship Ganesh Idols visarjan in arabian sea or kali river.
        Bigger size upto 10 feet ganesh statue also installed in Ganesh Pendals of karwar like Autorickshaw stand Ganapati,Maruti galli Ganapati,k.s.r.t.c. Ganapati,Kajubag Ganapati, Headquarter Ganapati,Nandangadda ganapati,Kodibag ganapati,Shirwad ganapati these ganpati visrjan after eleven days only. on eleventh day after grand faeries at Five o'clock main streets with Orchestra.  All Ganpatis at evening seven o'clock all Ganpatis visarjan in Arabian sea.
